The Difference between the Spring-Assisted Knife and Switchblades

A lot of people are not aware of the difference between the spring assisted knives and the switch blades. The kind of material is used in the making of the Stilettos Knives is similar: steel. Other characteristics are same as well.  Switch blades have springs that exert pressure on the knife constantly. The normal position is these sorts of knives is open. The knife is released instantly when the button is pressed. The stored energy in the spring forces the blade out of the handle. The blade is closed by the locking mechanism.

Opposed to the Stiletto Switch Blade, the spring knives remain closed, hidden in the handle. It is their natural position. Instead of the button, they have a flipper on the back of the knives. The flipper protrudes from its position only in the closed position. In the open position, it sinks back into the handle.

A thumb stud is another integral part of all tactical folding knives.

Depressing either of the buttons in the spring assisted knife begins opening of the Stiletto Blade. I think there is no difference in the performances of the knives. One interesting fact comes to my mind is that these knives are legal to carry in The United States of America and the other types are not. Meanwhile,  the switch blades are not permitted to carry in the most of the states of America. It’s illegal.
